The Geological Society of America (GSA) unites more than 26,000 earth scientists from every corner of the globe. Our growing membership draws from all sectors — academia, government, business, and industry —  joined in a common purpose to study the geological mysteries of Earth and other planets and to share scientific findings.

GSA’s mission is to to advance geoscience research and discovery, service to society, stewardship of Earth, and the geosciences profession.

Speaking of Geoscience is a platform for giving voice to GSA members and friends in support of this mission.  It is scientists sharing ideas and information, asking questions, and dissecting issues across a range of earth-science topics.  We invite you to visit this site often and add your comments to the discussion.
